EPA Admin Urges Tech Companies to Consider Recycling in Design

Let’s face it, electronics are not designed to be taken apart easily, and most of us would agree that that’s not necessarily a bad thing.  We all want our laptops and cell phones to be able to withstand a little bruising and maybe even a drop or two. 

However, if the companies that produce these gadgets could make the “de-manufacturing” of them a little bit easier, it would stand to reason that we might all benefit a little bit more.  We could more easily extract the salvagable parts for reuse, which is ultimately the ideal route to follow because it saves the most of our resources.

U.S. SMALL BUSINESS CONTINUES TO GROW JOBS AND CUT LANDFILL WASTE

GEORGETOWN, KY, November 25, 2009 The Bureau of Labor Statistics recently reported that the unemployment rate rose to 10.2 in the month of October.  Some of greatest job losses were from the manufacturing industry.  So, it’s very interesting to note what is taking place at a small company in central Kentucky that is adding jobs consistently in the “de-manufacturing” industry.
