EPA Admin Urges Tech Companies to Consider Recycling in Design
by alexa on Aug 5 2010 • No comments yetLet’s face it, electronics are not designed to be taken apart easily, and most of us would agree that that’s not necessarily a bad thing. We all want our laptops and cell phones to be able to withstand a little bruising and maybe even a drop or two.
However, if the companies that produce these gadgets could make the “de-manufacturing” of them a little bit easier, it would stand to reason that we might all benefit a little bit more. We could more easily extract the salvagable parts for reuse, which is ultimately the ideal route to follow because it saves the most of our resources.
